AEX25 which keeps track of the capitalization of the top 25 companies in the Netherlands. This index in general moves up over long-term because the Netherlands economy also shows stellar economic growth.

As a trader you want to be biased & keep buying as the index moves up. When the Dutch economy is doing good most of these top 25 stocks will continue moving up and therefore this index will also move in an upward trend. A good index trade strategy would be to buy market dips.

During Economic SlowDown & Recession

During economic slowdown & recession times, companies start to report lower profits & lower growth prospect. It is due to this reason which investors start to sell stocks of corporations reporting lower profits & hence the index tracking these particular stocks will also start to move downwards.

Hence, during these times, market trends are a lot more likely to be heading downwards and as a trader you should also adjust your trading strategy accordingly to suit the prevailing down trend of the stock index that you're trading.
