Bollinger %B Technical Analysis & Bollinger %B Trading Signals

Engineered & Built by John Bollinger

Percent B Comes from Bollinger Bands Calculation.

It Is an Oscillator with Three Lines: 0, 50, and 100

  • 0 represents lower Band
  • 50 represents middle Band
  • 100 represents upper Band

Percent B fluctuates within these three defined boundaries, illustrating the price's position relative to the three Bollinger Bands.

Bollinger Percent %B Indicator - Bollinger % B Indicator Analysis

%b indicator

If the price tests or touches the top band, the oscillator reaches 100: if the price goes above the top band, the oscillator goes to +100.

When price hits the lower band, the oscillator reaches 0. If price drops below that band, the indicator goes to -1.

when the marketplace price touches/assessments the middle band then the oscillator indicator could be at 50.

Calculation

Percent B is calculated as Price Close minus Lower Band times 100.

Upper Band - Lower Band
