There are three types of charts used in Indices: Line Charts, Bar Charts and Candles Charts.
Line Charts - plots continuous line joining closing indices prices of indices.
Indices Trading Line Charts - What are the 3 Types of Charts?
Bar Charts- portrayed as sequence of OHCL bars. OHCL represents OPEN HIGH LOW and CLOSE. The Opening stock indices price is illustrated as a horizontal dash to the left & closing stock indices price as a horizontal dash to the right.
Indices Bar Charts - What are the Three Types of Charts?
Candlestick Charts - these use the same stock indices price data as bar charts (open, high, low, and close). However, they're drawn & represented in a more visually identifiable manner that looks like a candlestick with wicks on both its ends.
How to Analyze
The rectangle section is known as body.
The high & low are described as shadows and drawn as poking lines.
Candles Charts - What are the 3 Types of Charts?
The color of candlestick is either blue or red
- (Blue or Green Color) - Prices headed up
- (Red Color) - Prices headed down
Most indices platforms like the MetaTrader 4, use colors to mark direction. Colours used are blue or green: when stock indices price moves up, red: when stock indices price moves down.
