What are the Types of Orders?
- Market Order
Market Order is the most basic type of order, market order is used to buy or sell at the current price. This refers to the quoted stock price which pops up on your software.
Market Order type of stock order is used for buying or selling according to the present stock price quote - the execution of market order is instant. The minute you want to enter a position you can buy & sell at a click of a button using a market order.
- Buy Limit Order Specifies to buy at a level which is below the ruling stock market price
When buying, pending buy limit order is executed when the stock price falls to your limit stock price quote area.
- Sell Limit Order Specifies to sell at a level which is above the ruling market price
When selling, pending sell limit order is executed when the stock price rises to your limit stock price quote area.
- Buy Stop Order Specifies to buy at a level which is above the ruling stock market price.
When buying, a pending buy stop order is executed as the market goes up and hits buy stop stock price quote area.
- Sell Stop Order Specifies to sell at a level which is below the ruling stock market price.
When selling, a pending sell stop order is executed as the stock market price goes down and hits the sell stop stock price quote area.
