To set new stock indices order to buy or sell a trade can be found on the MT5 tools menu within the MT5 Platform. Button for placing a new trade order is shown below. (MetaTrader 5 ShortCut Keyboard Keys "F9")

As a trader, once you select the new index order button as illustrated above following pop up window will pop. This panel popup includes all the settings used for placing a new trade order.
How Do You Trade Stock Indices and Set a Indices Order in MT5?
Following Order Setting are specified for setting up & placing a new indices trading order:
- Symbol - Specify the instrument to be traded -indices.
- Volume - The Number of Lots to be transacted
- Stop Loss Stock Indices Order - Set Stop Loss Indices Order, This option can be set after opening the trade, or for pending indices orders
- Take Profit Stock Indices Order - Set Take Profit Indices Order, This option can be set after opening the trade, or for pending indices orders
- Type: Market Execution Indices Trading Order or Pending Indices Order
- Sell by Market - Open a Sell Indices Trade
- Buy by Market - Open a Buy Indices Trade
To Buy at current stock indices price hit the Buy by Market button key
To Sell at current stock indices price hit Sell by Market button key
