To set a new indices order in MetaTrader 4 platform use the step by step procedure described below:
Place New Stock Indices Order on Tools Menu in MT4 Platform
A new indices order to buy or sell a trade can be found on the tools menu within the MT4 Platform as illustrated below. The New order button for placing a new index trade is displayed and illustrated & shown below. (MT4 Short-Cut Key-board Keys 'F9')

Placing a New Stock Indices Order
Once you select the new indices order button as illustrated above following indices trading order popup window will appear.
This pop up includes the settings for placing a new indices trade order.
How Do You Trade Indices and Set Stock Indices Orders on MetaTrader 4 Indices Charts?
Following Order Setting are specified for setting up & placing a new indices order:
- Symbol - Specify the instrument to be traded -indices.
- Volume - The Number of Lots to be transacted
- Stop Loss Stock Indices Order - Set Stop Loss Indices Order, This option can be set after opening trade, or for pending indices orders
- Take Profit Stock Indices Order - Set Take Profit Indices Order, This option can be set after opening trade, or for pending indices orders
- Type: Market Execution or Pending Indices Order
- Sell by Market - Open a Sell Indices Trade
- Buy by Market - Open a Buy Indices Trade
To Buy at current stock indices price & open a new indices order select Buy by Market indices order button
To Sell at current stock indices price & open a new indices order select Sell by Market indices order button
