Best Stock Indicators for MT4
In MT4, go to the charts menu in the MetaTrader 4 platform. The first choice is the Chart Menu. The indicators list appears below, but it's grayed out. Traders can't use it yet. How do you activate it? The button shows below.
How to Place Technical Indicators to MetaTrader 4 Technical Chart Indicators Guide
Technical indicator lists on trading charts become active once specific indicators like MA or RSI are applied. Illustrated here is an example where these indicators are added, activating the Technical Chart Indicators button key seen - helping traders apply strategies effectively using tools on their charts.
This option on MetaTrader 4 is used to list all the MT4 indicators which have been placed on the chart. For example once you click the above button a pop-up window then will appear list all the technical indicators placed on the trading chart - Indicators Collection on MT4 Chart.
As a trader, you have the option to select any indicator from this 'Indicators Collection' and proceed to either modify or remove the MetaTrader 4 indicator in question. To perform an edit or deletion, simply pick a specific indicator and click the corresponding "Edit" or "Delete" button.
To Edit a MT4 Indicator, once you press edit button, then the following window will appear:
From the Adjusting Keys above
- Parameters Button - Edit parameters of an MetaTrader 4 trading indicator such as color, line width, calculation method, & the No. of price periods used in calculating the MT4 indicator properties.
- Levels Button Key - Place a level, for example add overbought level at 80% and over-sold level at 20% on RSI, by choosing the "levels" button, then selecting the point 80 and click add, and repeat for point 20. (First Select The RSI to edit its settings)
- Visualization Button Key - Specify on which chart time frame MT4 indicator will popup on.
The second button is labeled "Delete. " If you, as a trader, wish to remove either a single indicator or multiple indicators at the same time, simply select the indicator you want to remove and then click this button.
